This Beautiful Photo Project Is Sharing LGBT Stories

Here's to #BareNakedTruth.

#BareNakedTruth is a stunning photo project made up of nude portraits accompanied by stories from people in the LGBT community.

Josh Feeney, who is based in Sydney, started the project last year after the shooting at Pulse, a gay night club in Orlando where at least 50 people were killed and 53 were injured.

"I happened to be in a queer space myself at the time when I found out that it had started" Josh told BuzzFeed. "I was at a loss of what to do, I was in shock."

"I was inspired by the LGBTQ+ community coming together and wanting to combat the hate. There was one quote that said 'you can't hate someone whose story that you know,' so I was inspired to start telling stories as soon as possible."

He began the project by making a call-out to the LGBT community in Sydney, and started asking people to come forward and submit their story.

Originally 100 people were photographed, and Josh has since travelled all over the world for the project: "It's been spectacular... the whole point to me is how people resonate with the stories."

Photos from #BareNakedTruth are being used to promote Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras this year, and there will even be a float with project participants from all over the world.

"It's been so special to have different stories for different moments and to be able to explore different themes that resonate with different people."
