In the eight years of his papacy, Francis has talked about and modeled more acceptance of LGBTQ people than his predecessors, writes Heidi Schlumpf. He sends signs and makes baby steps. But when it comes to actually changing church teaching, not so much -- as with a new ruling that leaves LGBTQ Catholics out of the sacramentality of marriage. That needs to change.
